Description
Systems and methods for network-aware container orchestration include receiving pod deployment requests that specify network transport requirements. Router resource data indicating current protocol support and resource utilization is obtained from routers in the container orchestration environment. Additionally, topology mapping data showing the connections between worker nodes and routers is retrieved. The system filters available worker nodes based on both the router resource data and topology mapping to identify candidate nodes having access to router resources that match the pod's network transport requirements. An optimal node is then selected from these candidates based on computational resource availability, and the pod is deployed to the selected node. This approach ensures that pods are placed on nodes that have both sufficient computational resources and access to network transport capabilities needed to support the pod's networking requirements, improving deployment reliability and preventing resource-related failures in container environments.
